PNG meets DiViAS
 

We had the pleasure of welcoming two researchers from the University of Papua New Guinea at the Landesmuseum Natur und Mensch Oldenburg. Alongside partners from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Jade University of Applied Sciences, and the Küstenmuseum Wilhelmshaven, we exchanged ideas as part of the interdisciplinary DiViAS research project.
The focus: ethnographic objects (and human remains) from the colonial era, now part of the museum’s holdings and currently being explored through collaborative research and digitalization efforts.
We’re thankful for the inspiring discussions, the valuable feedback on our digitization process, and the strong impulses for future academic cooperation.
