On 16 July 2024, we held a workshop on the topic of “data modelling” as part of the research project DiViAS at the State Museum Nature and Man Oldenburg. The first step was to take stock of existing data models and discuss the compatibility of models and standards such as CIDOC-CRM, FAIR principles and PROV-DM. Presentations provided insights into the various principles, data models and the current status of data collection from the both case studies of the research project. The compatibility of the data from the two case studies was analysed and the approach to uncertain data within DiViAS was addressed. As a final step, we defined aspects that go beyond the existing standards and are of particular relevance to the transdisciplinary research project.
